Most Rev. Lucius I. Ugorji

Chairman, Board of Directors

His Grace, Most Rev. Lucius I. Ugorji is the Catholic Archbishop Of Owerri and the Chairman, Board of Directors.

His Grace graduated in 1977 from the Bigard Memorial Seminary Enugu, and was ordained a priest same year at the St. Finbarr’s Catholic Church, Umuahia, Abia State. He obtained a diploma in German Language, and Doctorate in Theology from the University of Munster, Germany in 1980 and 1984 respectively. He was a Lecturer in Moral Theology, Fundamental Theology Ecclesiology and German at the Bigard Memorial Seminary Enugu. His Grace was also a Lecturer in Moral Theology at the Spiritan International School of Theology (STST), Atakwu.

He was ordained Bishop on July 1, 1990 at the Mater Dei Cathedral, Umuahia. He served as the Chairman, Theological Commission of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) from 1994 to 2000. He was also the Chairman, Church and Society, Owerri Ecclesiastical Province (OWEP) from 1994 to 2021. He was further the Chairman, Inter-Religious/Ecumenical Dialogue, OWEPO from 1994 to 2006. He was appointed the Metropolitan Archbishop of Owerri on March 6, 2022, and he is currently the Chairman, Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria (CBCN)- a position he has held since the 9th day of March, 2022.

 

Dr. John Nwaiwu

Dr John Nwaiwu is the chairman/chief executive officer of JB Pharmaceuticals Ltd, with offices in Lagos and Owerri.

He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from the University of Philipines and a Ph.D in Pharmacognosy from the Chelsea College, University of London. A former senior lecturer at the faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Nigeria Nsukka, John served as a member of different committees in the university, including: University Senate Research Grants Committee; Member, Board of African Institute of African Studies; Member, University Consultancy Management Board and Staff Adviser, Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria Students (PANS), among others.

Dr Nwaiwu had a meritorious career at the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), where he retired as Deputy Comptroller General. During his time at the NCS, he was a member of the Nigerian delegate to Washington DC on Nigeria-USA agreement on Africa Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA); member, Nigerian delegate to Algeria on Nigeria-Algeria Bi-lateral agreement, among others.

A dedicated and resourceful pharmacist, he continued to serve on the various boards and committees of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) in many capacities, most especially as Chairman from 2011 to date. An astute and renowned pharmacist, He is a Fellow of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (FPSN), Fellow of the Nigeria Academy of Pharmacy (FNAPharm) as well as a member of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP). He is also a registered professional of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria(FRCN).

Following his immense contribution to the pharmaceutical profession, he has won to his credit, different national and international awards and membership of many national and international professional societies.

Dr Nwaiwu brought his wealth of Management experience into Chikum MFB serving as Chairman of the Board Finance, and General Purpose Committee as well as under the Board Credit, Risk and Investment Committee.

Mr. Dan Akujobi

Non – Executive Director

Dan Akujobi is the Managing Partner of DASOT Capital Partners Ltd and the Chairman of First Alliance Pension & Benefits Ltd.

Dan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a Masters degree in Business Administration with specialization in General Management from the University of Lagos. He is an Alumnus of Wharton Business School, Pennsylvania, USA, Manchester Business School, UK and International Institute of Management Development (IMD), Lausanne, Switzerland. An Honors student, he received the FGN merit( University scholarship) award in 1978 for academic excellence. After qualifying as a professional Accountant with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) in United Kingdom; he became a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) in 1982. Mr. Akujobi is also an Associate Member of a number of other Professional Bodies including the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria. He is also a registered Financial Adviser with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

After starting his professional career with Akintola Williams, Delliote & Touche & Co. in 1980, Mr Akujobi worked in the banking sector for over 19 years gathering in-depth knowledge and experience in Forensic accounting, Audit, Compliance and Corporate Restructuring. A seasoned banker, financial guru and former Executive Director in Diamond Bank Plc, he is also on the Board of a number of companies including Diamond Bank Du Benin (Republic of Benin) and Eastward Bureau De Change Ltd having served on the boards of DBL Securities Ltd, DBL Insurance Brokers Ltd and ACB International Bank Plc.

With meritorious services in both the banking and consultancy sectors, he brought his wealth of experiences in Audit Practice, Investigation, Financial Management, Consultancy and Banking to bear in Chikum MFB with special skills in Executive management, leadership, Policy strategy formulation and implementation, Credit Analysis and Risk management to mention but a few.

Mr. Akujobi is serving as both Chairman of the Board Credit, Risk and Investment Committee and the Board Audit Committee.

Mr. Metu Evarist Ihematulam

Non – Executive Director

Mr. Metu Evarist Ihematulam obtained a National Diploma (ND) in Accountancy from the Federal Polytechnic, Nekede in 1990; and B.Sc. (Hons) in Accountancy from the Abia State University, Uturu in 1993.

Prior to his appointment as a member of the Board of Directors of Chikum Microfinance Bank Limited, Mr. Metu had garnered over thirty-five years of work experience in accounting. He had worked as the Head of Units, Pension and Gratuity, Expenditure, Final Accounts, and Budget and Planning, before his retirement as Chief Accountant from the Imo State Polytechnic, Umuagwo on August 15, 2016.

Mr. Metu has attended a number of workshops, seminars and symposiums in his professional field both locally and internationally. He has also served as a member of Finance Council, Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, World-Bank, Owerri.

Mr. Metu has received many awards and commendations for his outstanding contributions in public and private life.

Mr. Metu Evarist Ihematulam is currently serving as a member of the Board Governance and Nominations Committee in Chikum Microfinance Bank Ltd.

Mrs. Chioma Ibeziako

Non – Executive Director

Chioma Ibeziako is a seasoned Banker with experience that spans over two decades in the Commercial and Retail Banking Sectors. The story of banking in Nigeria cannot be told without a kind mention of the innovative trajectory she, together with notable contemporaries, executed in the Retail Sector of the industry.

She holds a combined Honors Degree in Arts and Education from the University of Calabar, Calabar Nigeria and a Post Graduate Degree in Management from the Imo State University, Owerri.

A member of the prestigious Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria and Associate of the Institute of Chartered Economists of Nigeria, Chioma is currently on the Board of Directors of Chikum Micro-Finance Bank Limited, where her experience in Credit, Investment and Audit resonates in the advancing strides of the establishment.

A corporate achiever who is committed and driven to give back to the society, she is a volunteer Trainer/Coach in the Mentorship Scheme for Youth Actualization coordinated by a Training and Development facility, The Universal Training and Consulting Limited affiliated to John Maxwell Business School.

Rev. Fr. Bonaventure Opara

Non – Executive Director

Rev. Fr. Bonaventure Opara is a Catholic Priest and the  Finance Administrator of the Catholic Archdiocese of Owerri.

Rev Fr. Bona obtained a Bachelors of Arts degree in Philosophy and a Bachelors degree in Theology from the St Joseph Major Seminary as well as a Post Graduate Diploma in Management, Masters in Philosophy and an MBA (Management) from the University of PortHarcourt.

His working experience in the Catholic Archdiocese included being the Director of Education handling all the mission schools in the state and for which he had earned the trust of Parents and students alike. He has a wide range of experience in Finance Administration, Management, Leadership, Human Resources Administration and Strategic Business Management. He has deployed this wealth of experience in his capacity as member of the various Board committees in Chikum MFB to enhance the overall growth of the Bank.

He is serving under the Board Finance and General Purpose committee as well as the Board Audit committee.

Mr. Anthony Mmaduabuchi

MANAGING DIRECTOR/CEO

Anthony obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology from  University of Nigeria Nsukka and MBA in Business Administration from  ESUT Business School Enugu.
A career banker with over 20 years banking experience  in banking  sector,he served 18 years out of the 20 years in Keystone Bank Limited  in various departments including Banking Operations,Retail/Consumer  Banking and Commercial Banking.He rose to the rank of Branch Manager  and Regional Service Manager South South Region.
He joined Chikum Micro-Finance Bank Limited in July 2020 as Head  Admin/HR and Chief Operations Officer overseeing Banking  Operations,Information and Communications Technology,Finance,HR and  Admin Departments. He assumed the position of the Managing Director/CEO in July, 2021.
He is a member of Chikum Management Steering Committee with a  strategic focus on Process Improvement.
He is married with children.
